I'm a junior in high school....I started out at a High school in Lakewood Washington. I loved that school, best education ever. So During my freshman year in Fall Semester i got a 3.7 GPA & the Spring semester a 3.7GPA. Then in the fall semester of my Sophomore Year, i received a 3.7GPA again. But suddenly everything changed, my step dad was in the military. Him and my mom decided to separate & get a divorce. Which led to me moving in the middle of my sophomore year. Which we all no is not good. So we ended up moving to NY. I had to attend a very bad school, im not gonna get into detail. But to make a long story short. My GPA was very low. Like a 2 point something. Because i had to play catchup on whatever they were doing. I had C's and when before i was an A B student. Then they let me transfer, to a new high school for my Junior year. The problem was I started school about 3 weeks late, because the process to transfer schools & find the school took forever. So with that...I was behind in Chemistry, AP US History, and Algebra 2. Not to mention in Algebra 2 it took them forever to get me a book, i didnt get one until toward the end of the semester. Soo i couldn't even do the Homework. I still managed to get a minimum grade 65--which is passing. But im very dissatisfied. My GPA for the fall semester of my Junior year was an 80 average, which is a 2.5 GPA. Which isn't my full potential. So now its a brand new semester and my goal is to get ONLY a's and b's for the spring semester in My junior year. My question is will i still be able to attend a good college. When i started my Freshman year my goal was to attend Columbia university in NY so that i could study to become a Pediatrician. I still want to be a Pediatrician, but I don't think college's will accept me, with a low GPA during my Junior year. I don't want to attend a community college...that would just slow me down. I plan on taking the Sat's This spring, and in the fall of my senior year.... Read More »
